Opening Your Chakras

Opening Your Chakras

Jun 15, 2023

The chakra system consists of many energy centers located all over the body and even outside of it in our energy field. The greatest and most influential are those along the Sushmna, or central column that runs from the Earth Star Chakra below your feet to the Divine Gateway Chakra, several feet above your head.

When your chakras are open and active, your system becomes self-healing. It is also easier for you to elevate in vibration and connect to your guides. In fact, with an active energy flow along the Sushmna, you can travel in spirit to other dimensions. To learn more details about the chakras, read my article entitled Your Energetic Axis.

Below is a meditation that will guide you through the process.

Chakra Opening Meditation

Begin by finding a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. Close your eyes and sit up comfortably, resting your hands in your lap. Take a few deep breaths, noticing the body. How do you feel today? Are there any areas of discomfort? Notice the clothes on your body and the feeling of the air in the room. Take your time, observing it all without needing to change anything.

Breathe in and out deeply, following the air as it enters with each inhale and makes its way down into the lungs, and then again as it leaves the lungs and moves out the nose into the room. Notice that the inhales feel cool and the exhales warm. Take five deep breaths following the path of the air.

Now imagine that as you breathe in light enters the body and begins to fill you up. Imagine that as you breathe out, anything that no longer serves you leaves the body with each exhale. Every inhale activates more of your own inner light until you are glowing from head to toe. The light feels wonderful, like love sent from the universe.

After you feel completely full of light, focus on a point about one foot below you, where your Earth Star Chakra is located. Envision a flower there, closed and sleeping under the stars. The flower is a deep dark red color. The day begins to dawn, and as the sunlight hits the petals, they begin to open. A deep red light starts to glow within the flower. Soon, the light is so bright that you cannot see the flower anymore. The light starts to spin, like a spinning disk. Soon, the disk is spinning so fast it is like it is standing still.

From the red spinning disk shoots up a column of deep red light, which moves up until it reaches a flower located above it. This is a bright red rose, asleep at the base of your spine, where you have the Root Chakra. Repeat the process with this red rose, taking your time. The sun rises, the petals open, and it glows, spins, and releases a column of bright red light.

This column is a continuation of the first, only a brighter red color. It connects to the next chakra, the Sacral, which is located a few inches below the navel. There you find an orange sleeping flower. Allowing it to unfold at its own pace, repeat the process of blossoming, glowing, spinning, and releasing an orange column of light.

Above the Sacral Chakra is the Solar Plexus Chakra, located below the sternum. The orange light connects to the yellow flower sleeping there, and the process is repeated.

After opening the Solar Plexus, the next chakra above that is the Heart, in the center of the chest. Its flower is green. Above that, next is a blue flower located in the Throat. The Third Eye Chakra follows, which is an indigo flower, and finally the Crown Chakra, a white lotus.

Above the crown are chakras whose colors are beyond the visible spectrum, so as you encounter them, let whatever color you wish come to mind. The first is the Soul Star, about one foot above the head. Move up from there, feeling for a sticking point at around the three-foot mark which is the Universal Chakra. Above that is another sticking point at six feet, where the Galactic Chakra resides, and finally after that is a final sticking point at twelve feet, the Divine Gateway Chakra.

Above the Divine Gateway, you should feel like you have now entered an area free of limitation where your column could go on indefinitely. This means you have successfully opened the whole system. Travel down your column and back into the body. Feel yourself breathing deeply, feel your clothing, and feel the air in the room. Listen to the sounds around you. When you are ready, softly open your eyes.
